銃弾に倒れたSpider-Manを介抱するCaptain America。S.H.I.E.L.D.の兵たちに逮捕されるNick FuryとPunisher。だがそのクイーンズボローブリッジに突っ込んできたWar Machineにより、みんな川に投げ出されてしまうのだった…。
Carol Danversは駆けつけた警察車両に轢かれて意識不明の重体。
S.H.I.E.L.D.のディレクターに任命されたGregory Starkは、Nickの諸兄を命じるが…。
後半。
内容が凝縮されていて、これが日本のコミックだったら何巻分になるのだろうかなどと考えてしまいます。
結論から言うと、すべての黒幕はGregory Starkでした。
彼がスーパーソルジャーを売り渡していたのです。
平壌でそのスーパーソルジャーたちが一斉蜂起。
他国の問題のため介入に躊躇していたUltimatesですが、すべてはGregoryの企みと知り平壌に向かいます。
計画の邪魔をされたGregoryは自ら出陣し、Ultimatesに対抗。
Tonyより頭は良いらしく、そのテクノロジーにThorもCapもIron Manも歯が立ちません。
しかしIron Manが電磁パルスを放出し、Gregoryのスーツは機能を止め、そこにThorのとどめの雷が―。
しかし平壌での出来事は囮で―。
その間にイランでもスーパーソルジャーたちが蜂起していて政府を倒し、民主主義が勝利します。
Gregoryの思惑通りになったわけです。
数日後、Spider-Manが殺害され（これは"Ultimate Spider-Man"で語られているはず）たことやGregoryの事件等のこともあり、S.H.I.E.L.D.のディレクターから降ろされるCarol Danvers。
後任はNick Fury。
すべてはNickの描いた絵なのか―？
